Posting Advice
When you decide to post your resume, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. Use the headline to advertise what you do. It is not in your interest to put your name, the year, or any other inapplicable information. The only way to get the attention of recruiters and bored executives is to tell them as quickly as you can why they should open that file. The other issue to keep in mind when deciding to put in that headline is to know exactly what it is you want to do. Too often I talk to people in very confusing stages. They do not know what they want to do, and feel qualified to do a number of things. If you are confused, begin to imagine what you could do to people reading your resume. For example, if you are a Java Developer, but have a great deal of exposure to Mercury QA products, then list these skill sets in order of greatest interest or experience to the least. Use as few words as possible. If you are a software sales expert, just say that. There is plenty of space in the resume file to expound upon your exploits.
